Try the Normal Unlock First
Stop Charging
Keep the vehicle parked. End the session using the charger or vehicle’s normal stop control, following the equipment instructions, and confirm that charging has stopped.
Unlock the Connector
Unlock the vehicle with the key. For AC charging, open Energy Centre on the centre screen, then select Unlock Charging Port, as described in the manual.
Check Whether It Releases
Hold the connector body and try to withdraw it without force. If the AC connector remains locked after the normal unlock, use the emergency procedure below.

Find the Release in the Boot
The emergency unlocking rope is behind the inspection cover on the left interior panel of the boot. The manual’s diagram identifies the boot side-wall cover as ① and the unlocking rope as ②.
- ① Side-Wall Cover
- The inspection cover to open.
- ② Unlocking Rope
- The emergency release behind the cover.

Emergency Release: Three Steps
Keep the vehicle parked and confirm charging has stopped. Use these steps when the normal AC unlocking method has failed and the charging connector cannot be removed.
Open the Side-Wall Cover
Open the inspection cover ① on the boot’s left interior panel. Locate the emergency unlocking rope ② shown in the diagram.
Pull the Unlocking Rope
Pull the identified emergency unlocking rope to manually release the connector’s electronic lock.
Remove the Connector and Refit the Cover
Remove the AC charging connector, then restore the boot side-wall cover.

Before Driving Away
- Check that the charging connector has been removed and the boot side-wall cover is back in place.
- Close the charging-socket dust cover and the outer charging-port cover using its normal control.
- Put the cable away or return the charger’s connector to its holder.
The manual says the charging connector must be unlocked and removed before the vehicle can start. If normal unlocking keeps failing, have the fault checked before relying on the next charge.
