Change E07 Ambient Lighting

Open Ambient Light on the car screen to change interior lighting colours, brightness, effects and zones. These steps follow the April 2026 Australian owner’s manual; screen labels and layout can change with vehicle software.

Open the Lighting Settings

While parked, use the centre screen in the car.

  1. Open Vehicle Settings

Select Vehicle Settings on the centre screen.

  2. Choose Body

    Open the Body tab.

  3. Open Ambient Light

Select Ambient Light. The manual’s illustration identifies this entry with a small light symbol.

Change the Colour and Brightness

  1. Choose Custom

On Ambient Light, select the Custom tab.

  2. Choose a Lighting Effect

Use the effect choices. For a steady colour, choose the steady effect; the manual’s example labels it Always On. The other documented effects are described below.

  3. Choose the Colour

Use the colour control. The manual describes 256 colours and a car preview showing the effect. It also describes two-colour gradients for the multi-colour gradient and flowing-light effects; the available controls depend on the selected effect.

  4. Set the Brightness

Adjust Brightness. The manual describes a range from 0% to 100% in 1% increments.

  5. Check the Lighting Zones

Check the whole-vehicle and individual-zone switches. A zone that is switched off stays dark even when you have chosen a colour. Active zones follow the custom settings.

Custom Effects and Preset Themes

The manual describes six custom lighting effects: steady on, breathing, flashing, multi-colour gradient, flowing water and flowing light. Its screen example uses shorter labels for some effects, so compare the choices shown on your car rather than expecting identical wording.

Steady on
A steady lighting effect, labelled Always On in the manual’s example.
Breathing and Flashing
Two separate animated choices described in the manual.
Multi-Colour Gradient
A gradient effect; the manual describes a two-colour selection.
Flowing Water and Flowing Light
Two separate flowing effects. The manual also describes a two-colour gradient for the flowing-light effect, using the word streamer in that explanation.

For a preset, select the Themes tab on Ambient Light. The manual describes five theme cards. Select a card and check the car preview; active zones follow that theme.

The whole-vehicle and zone controls are available for custom effects and themes. The manual identifies the centre-console area, four-door area and footlights. Switching off a zone does not switch off other active zones.

Lighting Linked to Other Functions

The manual describes ambient lighting changing with driving-mode selection and during voice interaction, including the conversation’s location and status. Those linked effects help explain why lighting can react to another function.

The reviewed manual pages do not establish a switch to disable these links, a tested music-linked interior mode, or a way to force a fixed colour through every interaction. If your screen has additional lighting choices, check the instructions and release notes for your own software.

Vehicle Scope and References

The September 2026 Australian specification lists 256-colour ambient lighting as standard on E07 RWD and E07 AWD Performance. This guide uses the April 2026 owner’s manual for the settings path and documented modes. It does not transfer features from another market’s software.
