How to Use Cruise Control in the Deepal E07

The E07 has two related driving-assistance modes: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC). Here is what each mode does and how to get started.

Before trying cruise control, make sure the driving-assistance feature is enabled in the vehicle’s system settings. The vehicle should be in Drive, the driver’s seat belt must be fastened, and the conditions shown on the centre display must allow activation.

ACC or IACC: What Is the Difference?

ACC

Adaptive Cruise Control manages the selected road speed and adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a following interval from traffic ahead. You remain responsible for steering.

IACC

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control combines adaptive speed control with steering assistance to help keep the E07 centred in a clearly marked lane.

Keep Both Hands on the Steering Wheel When Using IACC

If IACC detects that the driver has not held the steering wheel for an extended period, the centre display will issue escalating visual, sound and text warnings. If the driver still does not take over, the vehicle can activate its hazard lights, slow to a stop, exit IACC and initiate remote assistance. You can take control at any point while the vehicle is slowing.

How to Activate Cruise Control

  1. Check the SettingsConfirm that ACC or IACC is enabled in the vehicle’s driver-assistance settings.
  2. Prepare the VehicleDrive in a suitable area with the vehicle in D and your seat belt fastened. Watch the display for the grey standby icon.
  3. Move the Right Stalk down OnceMove the right-hand steering-column lever down once to activate ACC. A blue cruise-control icon and a confirmation tone indicate successful activation.
  4. Confirm the Mode on the DisplayCheck whether the display shows ACC or IACC. When IACC conditions are met, the system can add lane-centring assistance.
  5. Stay Ready to Take overKeep watching the road and be prepared to steer or brake immediately. These systems assist the driver; they do not replace the driver.

How to Change the Set Speed

Use the scroll ball on the left side of the steering wheel while ACC or IACC is active.

↑LEFT SCROLL BALL↓
Quick upIncreases the set speed by 5 km/h.
Slow upIncreases the set speed by 1 km/h.
Quick downDecreases the set speed by 5 km/h.
Slow downNeeds confirmation: the English manual contains contradictory wording.

Slow Downward Scroll Needs Confirmation. The English manual says that rolling the scroll wheel downward slowly increases the set speed. This wording is contradictory. We have not confirmed whether it is a typo, so this guide does not recommend a guessed correction. Confirm this control with DEEPAL and check the speed-adjustment instructions (E07 Owner’s Manual — p. 103 (PDF p. 114)).

The E07 manual lists a cruise-speed adjustment range of 20–130 km/h. Always choose a legal speed that suits the road and conditions.

Setting the Current Speed

If you temporarily accelerate using the accelerator pedal while ACC is active, rolling the left scroll ball upward can set the vehicle’s current speed as the new cruise speed.

Pressing the Scroll Ball

Pressing the left scroll ball can set the recognised current speed limit as the cruise speed when that speed-limit function is available. Confirm the selected speed on the vehicle display before relying on it.

Safety FirstDo not intentionally remove your hands to test the warning or controlled-stop function. Do not rely on IACC where lane markings are unclear, in severe weather, on sharp bends, or whenever road conditions make assisted driving unsuitable. Follow all messages on the vehicle display and take control whenever needed.

What the Colours Mean

Grey indicates that the cruise-control system is available and waiting in standby. Blue indicates that the selected assistance function is active.

How to Cancel

While moving, press the brake pedal to cancel cruise control and take back speed control. Always confirm on the display that cruise control has disengaged.

Exception When ACC Has Stopped the Car: pressing the brake pedal does not disengage ACC in this state. Do not assume it has cancelled just because you have pressed the brake while stationary. Check the display and follow the manual’s complete ACC exit instructions (E07 Owner’s Manual — p. 106 (PDF p. 117)).

Consult the owner’s manual for the full cancellation, resume, speed-adjustment and following-distance controls.
